About Canine Canyon Ranch:

Canine Canyon Ranch is located on 21 acres in the mountains of Tehachapi, California. We are a private rescue and we accept large dogs over 50 pounds. Our pack of 10 dogs lives with us in the house so I cannot accept dogs that are not socialized. I give priority to local dogs, owner surrenders and strays, and I rescue from animal shelters when I have space. There are usually 6-8 foster dogs here at any given time. A dog is welcome to stay here until they find that perfect forever home, whether it takes an hour or a year. In 2008, over 115 dogs were adopted, with only seven returns (for three of those dogs, those pesky cats win again)! And all of those returns are already happily re-settled in the right homes. You may call us at 661-823-0111, but remember, we’re on “ranch” hours here, so 7 am to 8 pm only please!
Our dogs are fixed with all shots and some are micro-chipped. When they leave here they are housebroken, well socialized and already using a dog door. An adoption contract is required. I am only interested in getting the dogs into the right home, therefore adoption fees can be adjusted and if an adoption does not work out, refunds or exchanges are arranged, so there is no penalty for “trying” a dog. We ALWAYS accept our dogs back as soon as we can make space.
Visits with your companion dogs are encouraged if arranged in advance. Visitors are welcome any day Monday-Sunday, our hours are “daylight”, but you need to call ahead (661) 823-0111 to make certain I am home. We all look forward to meeting you!
