About CCR
About Canine Canyon Ranch:
The rescue in New Mexico adopted its last dog 2/15/10 and is now CLOSED. Due to a divorce, Leslie has relocated to Colorado, where she will hopefully find a job, some property and start rescuing all over again. Thank you for visiting our website.
If you truly want to make a difference in the lives of large dogs, and want to partner with me, please contact me at caninecanyonranch@yahoo.com and let’s talk. I am committed to making a difference, I just need some backing to start over again. I run my rescue as a business that happens to save lives!
Canine Canyon Ranch is a dog rescue devoted to saving mutts over fifty pounds. Our dogs are fixed with shots, dog-door trained, housebroken and well socialized. We provide basic training as time allows. The dogs live in the house with us as a pack until they find that perfect forever home. An adoption contract is required and a requested adoption donation allows us to continue operating the rescue. Our adoption contract requires that food, water and shelter be provided to the dogs at all times. I do NOT adopt out dogs that will be chained for any reason. Outside only dogs are fine as long as they have appropriate shelter and get plenty of family attention. We are not a non-profit and run the rescue out of pocket but I am happy to provide a donation letter.
We accept owner-surrenders, strays and rescue from local shelters, so we usually have a waiting list.
We are between locations at the moment.
If you’d like to “check us out” before adopting or surrendering a dog, check out our Publicity link and here are a few 2009 news stories about the rescue:

Note: The Tehachapi ranch location is closed in July 2009. If you have a CCR dog that needs to be re-homed, please DO contact another Tehachapi or Bakersfield area rescue to take the dog. Go to www.Petfinder.com and use your zip code to locate the rescues nearest to you or email me at the Contact page address. Thank you for not returning the dog to the animal shelter.
